is defined as the process of creating or producing goods with the help of specific equipment, tools, machines or labor to particular specifications. It is a human activity from manual manufacturing to high technology, usually applied to industrial design where raw materials are transformed into finished products. Manufacturing engineering is the field that designs, upgrades and improves the production process. This process starts with product design and some initial specifications or parameters of raw materials which are then transformed through manufacturing to become products.
A) Definition of design for production:
The practical design methodology we follow to make the production process easy and feasible. Analyzing the manufacturing technology we try to determine key parameters that influence the production process and lead it to a specific cost. A key parameter is to keep production costs as low as possible. Others concern the form or type of raw material we will choose, the dimensional tolerances of the initial design or the secondary process which is the finishing and surface treatments.
In addition, we take into account:
1. Function setting time
The manufacturing time we have set for the preparation of the production process.
The overall schedule of the method we have preselected. The defined stages/phases leading to the production of the product (eg preparation of master molds and extraction of wax prior to the casting process). Failures or any problems that may occur in these processes due to the complexity of the form of a product or its parts that will lead to the delay from one phase to another.
2. Material Type:
The type of material we have chosen and its parameters:
The hardness or softness of the material. The ease or difficulty in processing it. The time required to process it. The additions that, if possible, are acceptable and how they affect the specific phase. The tolerances of the material and how its geometry affects the overall process.
3. Production process quality control:
It refers to the method we follow to control the quality of the process where in production quality is defined in terms of compliance and sequence of specifications. If these are observed, no problems or failures occur and the phase sequence works smoothly.
4. Process review:
Process inspection, at any point in production, is done to ensure that all product parameters and requirements are met to be taken for granted and proceed to the next stage.
Identifying and reporting a problem in the early stages of a process enables us to avoid additional charges on production costing and resolve it without wasting additional time.
Also, we are given the ability to ensure that the whole process works efficiently until the end of the production process. The process approach is considered one of the seven key principles of quality management underpinning ISO (management system standards) which are systems that operate fully and comprehensively.
5. Certification of the process:
It concerns the certification of production processes according to the pre-selected standards and processes for a continuous and smooth production process. We thus ensure all quality standards throughout its duration.

B) Ways of production process:
- Work Production:
Work production (or one-off production) refers to the work production of products for a specific customer (a company or an organization) in smaller quantities, smaller than the mass production method, by one or more people working on individual project (or in more than one) until their completion and delivery of the products.
Batch production:
Batch production refers to the production of products in specific groups or quantities within a defined time frame. A group of products may have successive phases or steps through a large production process to come to the final desired result per product Each phase has different production standards and different methods of working in always small quantities to ensure specific standards of product quality and performance.
Work production and batch production are the methods that “Marios Design” follows in combination. It designs and produces in small quantities groups of products on behalf of others, while at the same time it offers its own product collections to the retail & wholesale market (even to private consumers). These are produced in numbered pieces with high production and disposal standards and quality raw materials, which are deservedly called "masterpieces in place".
Flow Production:
Mass production (or flow production) refers to the production of standardized products in a constant flow in large quantities by assembly lines and production lines by workers where each person undertakes a task per production stage rather than the production of an entire product.
Lean Production:
It involves the production of very small units or orders of up to dozens of similar products in individual workplaces by carrying out series of subsequent production steps to produce some parts or even whole products. Thus product varieties can be produced without using long assembly lines.
