design and manufacture for a private customer

- Client: Private client
- Design & manufacture : Marios Krokos (Krokos Art)

In June of 2016 we design and manufacture for a private customer a small table from wood and glass.

1.
The challenge:
Our private client wanted the raw material of the wooden table to consist of 2 wooden pallets which would support the glass surface.
The design and the result had to refer to a simple and functional solution but at the same time be impressive and special so that the wooden surface can properly connect with the thick glass. That was the main choice of the small table's surface.

2.
The basic parameters of the project:

The main parameters of the project were:

- How would 2 wooden pallets be connected to each other in order to achieve stability of the base and proper functionality.
- How we could properly connect the wooden base with the thick glass that formed the main upper surface of the small table.
- How this connection would be technically correct and aesthetically a viable solution.

3.
The solution:
The way of connecting the base to the glass was our primary design parameter in combination with the connection of the 2 wooden pallets.

This was achieved in such a way that we could bring proper balance and ergonomic excellence.
The sculptural arms connecting the wooden base to the glass and the X-stretch connection were the decisive design and functional proposal for the solution to the aforementioned parameters of the project.

4.
The final finish of the base:
The coating of the wooden base with metallic paints and the metallic pearls combined throughout the painted surface defined the high aesthetics we wanted to achieve.
The overall result was simply impressive.
