In July 2017, the Platon restaurant burned to the ground. The difficult task of redevelopment, redesign and renovation of the space was undertaken by the well-known designer Kirios Criton. The designer Marios Krokos, under the supervision of Kyrios Criton, took over in August 2017 the design and construction of four platter discs for the interior place of the restaurant

The challenge and the outcome:
The material chosen was wood (walnut) and metal.
Inspired by the unfortunate incident, the first plate set had to look like the metal frame of the handle had been burned.
At the same time, this object should be useful and ergonomically functional. It would be a serving tray on some of the restaurant's tables.
The other three trays had the same logic.
A handcrafted method was followed in order to achieve the burning metal. In the end of the four round metal supports that held the wood of the disk a functional handle was made.
The overall result of the project was functional, simple and aesthetically acceptable and equal to the design inside the restaurant.
